Get One Give One…
For every shirt you purchase, a brand new shirt will be given to a child in need. Some children are homeless, some live in orphanages; others have been displaced and have temporary living conditions.
So Let’s think about this for a moment…What does this really mean?
Some estimate there are 147,000,000 orphans in the world. Others say more. It is our hope and prayer and desire that all these children would one day have their very own forever family, but the heartbreaking reality is that just won’t happen. However, we can all do something. We can all make a difference by creating awareness, advocating for these children and supporting those who have direct influence on their lives.
When you buy a shirt from My Happy Shirts, you are also buying one for a child in need; and in most cases, an orphan. These are children who need clothing, but more, they also need to know someone cares for and loves them. We all know the joy and recognize the feeling when we receive a gift from someone who cares about us, especially the gifts that come for no apparent reason. Giving someone a gift of something new, something created intentionally for them, for children who get so little, can be so special. They know someone cares for them, thinks about them, loves them and that they are, in fact, special too.
So many other children barely get their basic needs met – food, water, shelter, clothing, medicine and education. Some may never have these needs met. This is why My Happy Shirts has giving partners. Some will be smaller “grass roots” organizations like Embracing Hope Ethiopia, Bring Love In and One Child Campaign, and others larger more global organizations like Plan International and World Vision. We take other proceeds and support organizations such as these.
So it is our hope that My Happy Shirts is a brand recognized not just for promoting happiness, but sharing happiness and helping further the cause of the orphan. Share your happy.
Currently, My Happy Shirts is working in Ethiopia. We have also sent Happy Shirts with travelers in small organizations to India, Guatemala and Uganda. Future partners will be bringing shirts, supplies and supporting programs in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Sudan, and Kenya.
